Our Club
RVHPA is an active community of hang glider and paraglider pilots in Southern Oregon and Northern California. We maintain several amazing flying sites including Woodrat Mountain and The Whaleback. Membership dues help maintain our flying sites into the future. Please become part our club and fly with us!
Who Can Join
RVHPA membership is open to all USHPA members and is required for all pilots flying at the Woodrat Mountain flying site in Ruch, Oregon. Learn more about this requirement.
A Woodrat Mountain site pass is required to fly Woodrat.
Three Ways to Join
1. Join at the Ruch Country Store
You can now join RVHPA at the Ruch Country Store, one mile southwest of the Woodrat LZ on Hwy. 238. Sign up at RVHPA kiosk inside and pay for your membership at the store checkout with cash, credit, or debit. You’ll get your required Woodrat Mountain site pass and site guide after paying. This is a fast and easy way to join within minutes of the LZ. This is also the only place to get the 7 Day Visiting Pilot Membership ($20). All other membership types are available too.
2. Join Online
If you are joining as an annual member and do not need your site pass right away, you can join online and we will mail your membership materials to you. Joining online is easy, however, it will take approximately 14 days for you to get your Woodrat Mountain site pass and membership materials by mail so please join in-person at the Ruch Country Store if you will be flying at Woodrat in less than 14 days.
3. Join by Mail
If needed, RVHPA can also accept a membership application and payment by mail. This is the slowest way to get your site pass and membership materials and is generally discouraged.

Woodrat Mountain Site Pass & Site Guide
Every member receives a membership packet that includes a plastic RVHPA Woodrat Mountain site pass (membership card) and a site guide booklet. Please attach the site pass to your gear bag, harness, or other location where it can be easily seen while you are at Woodrat. The site guide will be very useful for all pilots and includes maps, info, and the site rules.
2012 RVHPA Membership Levels
RVHPA has four levels of membership. You will choose your membership level when you join at the Ruch Country Store or online.
Local Pilot Annual Membership: All pilots living in Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties, Oregon and Siskiyou County, California must join as Local Pilots. This membership type has voting privileges. The annual membership period runs from January 1 to December 31; current dues are $60/year.
Visiting Pilot Annual Membership: Pilots living outside of the four county Local Pilot area (see map) should join as Visiting Pilots. This membership type does not have voting privileges. The annual membership period runs from January 1 to December 31; current dues are $30/year.
Commercial Pilot Annual Membership: All instructors, tandem instructors, and event/competition organizers who are instructing, flying tandem, putting on clinics, events, competitions, etc. must join as Commercial Pilots. Commercial Pilots living in the four county Local Pilot area (see map) have RVHPA voting privileges; those living outside the Local Pilot area do not have voting privileges. The annual membership period runs from January 1 to December 31; current dues are $100/year.
7 Day Visiting Pilot Membership: RVHPA also offers a temporary membership valid for 7 consecutive days for non-local pilots (see map of local pilot area). Dues will be $20 for 7 consecutive days. These memberships are available for purchase only at the Ruch Country Store, one mile southwest of the Woodrat LZ on Highway 238 in Ruch, Oregon.
